Wrest Point Regional Activities

At Wrest Point we understand the need to get your delegates off-site to refresh their minds and challenge their senses, preparing them for what’s ahead. And with the river on one side and city and mountain on the other, there’s a range of regional activities, attractions, experiences and destinations that will motivate your delegates to see more. Within just five minutes’ drive is the historic sandstone buildings of Hobart’s waterfront, including the iconic Salamanca Place where every Saturday the precinct comes alive with the sights, sounds and smells of Salamanca Market. Nestled in the foothills of Mt Wellington, no more than 10 minutes from Wrest Point, you will find Cascade Brewery, where you can take part in a tour and beer tasting at this world-class fully operational brewery. Or, challenge your delegates to the Mt Wellington Cycle Tour, taking them by bus to the summit of Mt Wellington and then letting them go, flying down the mountain in an exhilarating 1270m descent to sea level.

Derwent River Cruises provides the largest fleet and widest range of exclusive cruises on the Derwent River, all with the ability to depart from the Wrest Point jetty, including cruises to the exciting new Museum of Old and New Art (MONA). And the excitement doesn’t end there, with championship golf courses, picturesque gardens, day trips to the Port Arthur Historic Site, the Coal River Valley wine region, Mt Field National Park or Tahune Airwalk all available to be added to your agenda.
