Take in the spectacular views from The Hazards mountains, walk the white-sanded shores of Wineglass Bay and indulge in Tasmania's finest food and wine while looking across the turquoise waters of the Freycinet Peninsula with the Wineglass to Wine Glass signature experience.
On this intimate, engaging full-day signature experience for a maximum of eight people you'll discover the landscapes, wildlife, history and local produce of the magnificent Freycinet Peninsula and Tasmania's East Coast region. From the 40,000 year old Tasmanian Aboriginal campsites to the whaling industry that thrived in the bays and inlets of the Freycinet Peninsula a little more than a hundred years ago, Wineglass to Wine Glass is a day of rich, varied and uniquely Tasmanian experiences that you will always remember. After a briefing from your personal guide you depart Freycinet Lodge for a visually stunning and invigorating walk up to the Wineglass Bay lookout, where the views take in the Freycinet Peninsula and beyond to the vast expanse of the Tasman Sea. You'll descend to Wineglass Bay, named by US magazine Outside as one of the world's top 10 beaches, where your guide will highlight the National Park's flora and fauna and immerse you in the Aboriginal heritage and European history of the area. From Wineglass Bay, you'll take the track across the isthmus to Hazards Beach to your secluded haven. Here a banquet awaits. You will be served local produce and cool-climate wines, including the freshest seafood from East Coast waters, with crayfish, calamari, abalone, scallops and blue eye trevalla, depending on the season. There'll also be a selection of Tasmanian beef and quail, accompanied by salads and specialty Tasmanian cheeses.
After an afternoon of relaxing, reading, swimming or strolling on the beach – all in your own time – our water taxi will collect you for the scenic 30-minute coastal cruise back to Freycinet Lodge. The Wineglass to Wine Glass experience commences at 8.00am and returns to Freycinet Lodge at 4.30pm. The tour cost is $290 per person and includes all guides, hiking equipment, morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea. For more information or to make a booking, please click here
