ImageDay 1
After your arrival in Hobart, take time to explore - taste our cool-climate wines with a visit to vineyards along the Southern Tasmanian Wine Route and discover the perfectly preserved Georgian village of Richmond. Call in to the galleries and cafes of Salamanca Place. If your stay includes a Saturday, Salamanca Market is a must see - you can even catch a ferry back to our own wharf. Relax in your Wrest Point room before enjoying a special evening meal in the Point Revolving Restaurant.

Day 2
Follow the Arthur Highway into history as you explore the Tasman Peninsula, with its tall sea crags, magnificent coastal scenery and rich convict heritage. Allow plenty of time to wander through the Port Arthur Historic Site with its intriguing interactive interpretation centre.  Explore other important heritage sites along the Convict Trail - call in at the Coal Mines Historic Site and Eaglehawk Neck, location of the notorious dog-line.  Return to Hobart to stay overnight at Wrest Point

Day 3
Take the journey along the 'Wild Way' into World Heritage wilderness. Stop at Lake St Clair for a short lakeside walk then continue to the picturesque West Coast port of Strahan. Experience the world's great railway journey on the West Coast Wilderness Railway, taking you back more than a century to the days when pioneers forged a rail link between the mining town of Queenstown and the port of Strahan. In the evening, enjoy a wide range of dining options, including superb local buffet dining at View 42 Restaurant & Bar, great local seafood at the Fish Cafe on the Wharf and cheerful pub meals at Hamer's Hotel.Stay overnight at Strahan Village

Day 4
There's plenty to explore in and around Strahan - don't miss the full or half-day cruise to the Gordon River aboard the fast, comfortable 'Lady Jane Franklin' - see Hells Gates, the entrance to Macquarie Harbour, cruise past a working salmon farm, go ashore on Sarah Island, feared penal colony in convict days and walk into the forest to see ancient Huon pines. Stay overnight at The Strahan Village.

Day 5
Take the road north from Strahan through the boom and bust mining town of Zeehan, with its fascinating Pioneers Museum. Reach Cradle Mountain, where you can see the famous profile of the peak reflected in the waters of Dove Lake and take the easy, short walk around the lake shore. Stay overnight at Cradle Mountain Chateau.

Day 6
Take a leisurely drive along the coast to reach Launceston, northern Tasmania's gracious city. Check into Country Club Tasmania and enjoy some of the facilities and activities, then discover Launceston's many attractions - the exciting new Inveresk Cultural Precinct, the city's beautiful parks and gardens and the Cataract Gorge Reserve.  Stay overnight at Country Club Tasmania.

Day 7
There's plenty to do in and around Launceston - or maybe you'd prefer a trail ride or a relaxing round of golf on the Country Club's 18 hole championship course. Take a drive through country lanes to visit historic Woolmer's Estate and see a 19th century working farm in action. In the evening, dine at our award-winning Terrace Restaurant. Stay overnight at Country Club Tasmania.

Day 8
Get ready for a day of delicious delights as you follow the Northern Tasmanian Wine Route along the Tamar River then east to Pipers River region wineries.  Then travel via George Town, Bridport, Scottsdale and Derby to St Helens on the East Coast (or take the Heritage Highway south from Launceston - there are two routes to the East Coast, the Esk Highway via Avoca and Fingal or from Campbell Town via Lake Leake.)  On the coast, head towards the rugged granite peaks of The Hazards in the Freycinet National Park. Stay overnight at Freycinet Lodge.

Day 9
Explore Freycinet, the jewel of Tasmania's East Coast. Take the easy walk to the Wineglass Bay lookout, with its sweeping view of one of the world's most beautiful beaches. Take a cruise to see dolphins and seabirds, visit an oyster farm or paddle a sea kayak along the sheltered coastline. Stay overnight at Freycinet Lodge.

Day 10
Head south along the coast to Hobart.  Take the road to the Pinnacle on Mt Wellington for superb views of the city and harbour - or drive southward on the Huon Trail to experience the awesome Tahune AirWalk, a slender walkway above the treetops of riverside rainforest. Stay overnight at Wrest Point.
