Aspiring Chef?Winner – Tasmanian Training Awards 2007 Finalist – Australian Training Awards 2007 Mise En Place/meez ahn plahs/ F. literally translated means "setting in place". When cooking, the term is used to describe preparation done before the actual cooking process. So you might see the connection to the Federal Group's new cookery apprentice program called Mise En Place. Federal Group is the largest employer of Chefs and Cooks in Tasmania, and we know it’s hard to find the skills and drive that make our kitchens, well, hot! Mise En Place commences in December each year with an intensive 12 week pre-employment program. The program combines learning between Drysdale, and alongside our talented staff in kitchens across the State, while working towards a recognised qualification in Cookery. On conclusion, we offer a number of Mise En Place apprenticeships, offering a varied and contemporary approach to your apprenticeship and a fast track into this exciting career. Our new program starts this December and applications close soon. Either download an information pack and application form below, or email
