Venture out from the Cradle Mountain Chateau to explore the walking tracks into Tasmania’s World Heritage Area. The short and easy Dove Lake circuit is one of Tasmania’s Great Short Walks, while the first part of the famous Overland Track takes you higher, to see wildflowers growing around glacial tarns and up to the foot of Cradle’s crags, or higher to the summit. Around the Chateau itself, native birds and animals are easily observed at dusk and in the early morning – join an evening wildlife-spotting tour to meet an even wider range of the island’s nocturnal animals.
