COVID-19 Important Information Updates and Closures

The health and safety of our customers and guests, our employees and our communities is of utmost importance. Since the outbreak of COVID-19 (coronavirus), Federal Group has been closely monitoring Federal and State Health Service announcements, following stringent guidelines from these agencies and implementing new initiatives and closures where necessary ensure our guests, employees and communities remain as safe as possible.

Federal Group operates a mix of tourism, hospitality, retail and transport businesses, and wide area gaming nationally. The detail provided here is an overview of the measures that have been implemented across our businesses. Please scroll further for specific information about individual organisations.

Elevated health and safety measures applied across the Federal Group businesses that remain open are designed to address a broad spectrum of viruses, including COVID-19, and include everything from stringent hygiene and cleaning procedures in all areas, disinfecting protocols for high-touch areas, and working with suppliers and contractors to ensure they are minimising risk of transmission.

In addition to the measures above, property-specific measures and updates are as follows:

Wrest Point

  • The hotel is closed as of Sunday 29 March, and no reservations can be made for stays between now and 15 June 2020.
  • All gaming, restaurants and bars are closed until further notice
  • The gym is closed until further notice
  • Shows and events have been postponed, and ticket sales have been suspended for all entertainment shows scheduled to occur before July 1, 2020. We are working closely with the artists to secure alternative dates for the shows where possible. Those customers with tickets will be receiving an email from us soon.

Country Club Tasmania

  • The hotel is closed as of Sunday 29 March, and no reservations can be made for stays between now and 15 June 2020.
  • All gaming, restaurants and bars are closed until further notice.
  • Horse riding is unavailable.
  • The Golf Course is closed.
  • Shows and events have been postponed, and ticket sales have been suspended for all entertainment shows scheduled to occur before July 1, 2020. We are working closely with the artists to secure alternative dates for the shows where possible. Those customers with tickets will be receiving an email from us soon
  • The health centre and pools at the Resort and Villas have been temporarily closed. All membership payments will be temporarily suspended for the same period as the closure.

  • Gasworks Cellar Door tasting experience is closed, however Tasmanian wine sales are continuing online at https://www.gasworkscellardoor.com.au
